Loyal Source Government Services is looking for qualified Chemotherapy Registered Nurses (RNs) to work as civilian contractors promoting and restoring patients’ health at the VA Northern California Healthcare System in the Sacramento area, CA. Candidates must have a current, unrestricted licensure in any state, territory or commonwealth of the United States, District of Columbia, Virgin Islands, Guam or Puerto Rico. This is a per diem opportunity working in a Government facility.

  • Must have at least 1 year of direct patient care experience (within specialty)
  • Must have a current, full, and unrestricted RN license in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S., or the District of Columbia
  • Must have current BLS Certification
  • Specialty RNs: must also have a current ACLS Certification



  • The RN providing services in the Oncology units or Chemotherapy clinics provides direct and indirect nursing care by contributing to the patient’ s assessment, determining priorities, identifying nursing measures and therapeutic objectives and evaluating outcomes. 
    The position requires independent judgment and nursing actions, flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to utilize an interdisciplinary approach in the provision of nursing care.
  • Perform Administration of Chemotherapy to patients on Oncology Units or in Chemo Clinic in accordance with Medical Center Policies and Procedures, Lippincott Manuel of Nursing Practice.
    Understands the Principles of Chemotherapy and the various Chemotherapeutic Agents.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of fundamental of Chemotherapy Administration; safety measures for administration, Treatment schedules, Pretreatment and Treatment.
  • Possess knowledge of complications of Cytotoxic Therapy and what interventions to initiate for them.
  • Competent in the Management of Patients Receiving Chemotherapy with specific skills in assessment, patient education, Toxicity management and Oncologic Emergencies.
