About the Position
The qualified Environment Scientist should have experience in applying biological sciences, wetland and listed species regulations, and water quality regulatory programs in support of a variety of transportation-based projects, such as PD&E Studies and rail and/or aviation projects.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience conducting ecological site assessments, wildlife surveys, jurisdictional wetland delineations, GIS mapping and analysis and vegetative monitoring.
Bachelor’ s degree in a related field
Experience preparing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation including the various FDOT documents, Environmental Assessments and/or Environmental Impact Statements
Experience obtaining permits from local, state and federal regulatory agencies
Be a confident self-starter who pays close attention to detail while working in an engaging, fast-paced environment
Possess strong oral and written communication skills for significant interaction with senior management, staff, and other internal and external parties
Have the ability to work in a team and collaborate with and mentor junior staff
Have strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Professional certification such as PWS or related credentials
