  • MUST possess the MA certification and HAVE PHLEBOTMY experience.
  • Completed qualifying course of study as an Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist
  • At least 12 months of continuous experience as a MA, within the past 3 years. 
  • Capable of performing Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist functions within the clinic/lab.
  • Must have hospital or clinical experience
  • Must have Phlebotomy AND MA experience 
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • No health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with the performance of assigned duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Takes and records blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, height and weight. 
  • Annotates patient chart with vital signs, pertinent history and level of pain.   Alerts provider of any acute issues stated by patient.
  • Obtains routine specimens for laboratory analysis and perform standard tests.
  • Insures proper identification of specimens and delivers them to the laboratory, always insuring proper PPE requirements are met.
  • Assist physicians and/or nursing staff as appropriate during patient examinations and treatments.   Acts as chaperon when needed or requested by the provider.
  • Apply/remove bandages binders, simple dressings and hot and cold packs.
  • Performs Electrocardiographs and notifies Physician of results. 
  • Assist physicians and/or nursing staff as appropriate during patient examinations and treatments.  Assists patients with proper use of 02 equipment, insuring proper fit for mask or cannula.
  • Accompany patients in wheelchairs, on litters or ambulatory within the hospital as required.
