Must possess a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
Possess a minimum of one year experience working in risk management, patient safety, or quality improvement programs to include experience in the clinical setting or direct care environment within the last three years.
Possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse (or higher) in the state where the MTF is located
The Service Contract Act applies to this requirement
Use the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) to review laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy information
Use the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), the electronic health record program for documenting outpatient care.
Use Essentris, the electronic health record program for documenting inpatient care
Provide training on entering data into the (Patient Safety Reporting) PSR system, addressing what, how and why the information is placed in the PSR, and the process for following up on the findings/recommendations from Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to ensure the corrective actions derived from the RCAs and FMEAs have been implemented and are getting the identified results. Team STEPPS training is required during all command orientation sessions (bi-monthly or monthly)
Provide a list of all the patient safety reports from the PSR system (also referred to as " Good Catch" reports) and provide it to the government representatives at the MTF. The representatives will review the reports to determine which candidate(s) should receive recognition. All award decisions will be at the sole discretion of the government.
Audit the clinics for regulatory compliance in addition to the main MTF. Branch Clinic audits are considered site visits.
Prepare meetings briefs & presentations
Prepare a monthly report for each MTF/clinic summarizing the activities of the PSP for the designated committees. The report shall include the findings of the tracers conducted during the month plus any findings from the universal protocol observations, MTF leadership, TJC and environmental rounds.
