Loyal Source is hiring an Occupational Medicine Physician to work at  Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC) located in Bluemont, VA. 

 

SCHEDULE:  Monday – Friday from 7: 00am – 3: 30pm

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess an MD or DO from an approved school of medicine or osteopathy

  • Board Certification in Occupational Medicine, Public Health, or Preventative Medicine from the American Board of Preventative Medicine (ABPM) 

  • A current, valid, unrestricted license to practice in any one of the fifty States

  • 5 Years of experience of practicing within an Occupational Medicine, Preventative Health setting

  • BLS certification

  • ACLS certification

  • Must have an active Top Secret Clearance

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

  • Occupational Health Physician will, in conjunction with the Medical Director, provide administrative oversight to manage personnel, pharmaceuticals, medical records, equipment and supplies at both medical units.

  • Conduct employee physical examinations (approximately 300 annually), including: analysis of clinical results and patient interaction with final signature authority for Fitness for Duty determinations. Qualification examinations include those based on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) require exams and determinations of employee medical qualifications to perform work in environments that may contain chemical, biological, physical and ergonomic hazards. Examinations shall include:

    • Physical exam and patient history

    • Vision testing

    • Audiometry

    • Electrocardiograms

    • Venipuncture/Blood Analysis

    • Vital Signs

    • Pulmonary Function Testing

    • Evaluations of second opinions and telephone consults

  • Provide respirator and occupational health certifications as needed (approximately 200 annually) for job specific occupational exposure (e.g., asbestos removal, welding, and pesticide application).

  • Occupational Health treatment to include minor injury care

  • Manage durable goods medical supplies

  • Provide Health Program Management including Health Promotions, Wellness, Immunization clinics (i.e., Influenza vaccinations, smoking cessation information, etc.)

  • Perform daily light traffic “ sick call” (approximately 300 per month)

  • Provide consultation services for occupational health issues, facility safety and environmental programs

  • Assist the Workers Compensation by providing clear and concise on-the-job injury/illness reports for all actions directly reported to the medical units
